A funeral service for Danny Kinnett, 77, of Carthage, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keefe Cropper, Rev. Leah Hanks, and Rev. Steven Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Kinnett passed away on Monday morning, Feb. 16, 2015, at his home in Carthage.
Danny Joe Kinnett was born on May 31, 1937, in Burkburnett, TX to the late Virgil Willie and Mildred Virginia Brian Kinnett. He graduated from Burkburnett High School with the class of 1955. Danny married Juanita Jean Butts on Feb. 4, 1956, in Burkburnett. He moved to Carthage in 1965, with Superior Iron Works which later became Red Man Supply, retiring as their Branch Manager in 2007. Danny enjoyed model airplanes, yard work, and traveling in the RV. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he attended the Loyal Sons Sunday School class. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marie Prescott; and one brother, Dexter Kinnett.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Juanita Kinnett of Carthage; two daughters, Kathryn Maines and husband Kenny of Carthage and Diane Moore and husband Mike of Deadwood; one brother, Robert Kinnett of Wichita Falls; sister-in-law, Carmen Kinnett of Newellton, LA; grandchildren, Chad Maines and wife Summer, Emily Dunn and husband Joshua, and Daniel Moore and wife Caylee; great-grandchildren, Kelby and Kenslee Maines and Zay and Evan Dunn; brother-in-law, Robert Butts of Temple; and sister-in-law, Mildred Miller of Wichita Falls. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Kinnett.
Pallbearers are Tommy Moore, Steven Moore, Adam Jones, Padraic Berry, Billy Brady, and Jimmie Dale Dunn.
Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Maxey, Henry Harrison, Jack Fox, Joe Higgins, Bill May, and the Loyal Sons.
