A memorial service for Mrs. Dana Elizabeth Powell Pruitt, age 46, formerly of Deadwood, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Old Prospect Cemetery near Deadwood. Mrs. Pruitt passed away on Thursday evening, May 31, 2012, in Dallas.
Dana Elizabeth Powell Pruitt was born on Oct. 9, 1965, in Carthage, TX, to James Elbert Powell, Jr. and Patricia Ann Fox Powell. She attended Carthage schools and graduated from Bossier Parish Community College with an Associate's Degree in Business. Dana was a very talented poet and had many of her writings published by Bossier Parish Community College. She also loved to cross stitch. Dana was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Dana is survived by her son, Jeremy Pruitt of Dallas; one brother, David Powell and wife Deborah of Granbury; and two nieces, Andrea and Blayke Powell of Carthage. Numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Pruitt.
