Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Dimple "Memaw" Collins, age 90 of Carthage, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ty Musser and Mr. Brandon Musser officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Collins passed away on Saturday morning, June 30, 2012.
Daisy Dimple Hill Collins was born on Aug. 5, 1921, in Beckville, TX to William Jared "Willie" and Ellie Lou Moore Hill. A life-long resident of Panola County, Mrs. Collins was born in Beckville, grew up in DeBerry, and lived most of her years in Carthage. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She served as a waitress in her early years, an office manager, and lastly a hairdresser. She loved gardening, cooking, canning, and crocheting. Many family members and friends benefited from the products of her garden and her pecan and fruit trees. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life and she loved giving them anything she could make with her hands. Mrs. Collins was married for 52 years to husband Worth Collins of Carthage, who preceded her in death in 2000. His career in the pipeline industry took them and the family all over the country, as she traveled with him as much as possible. She was a Baptist and also a member of the Eastern Star and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tollie and Noble Hill; and two sisters, Ruby Lawrence and Mable Hill.
Those left with loving memories are her children, Terry Worth Collins of Austin and Linda Musser and husband Rusty of Hallsville; grandchildren, Kristine Collins of Austin, Brandon Musser and wife Kristy of Brenham, Carmen Hamilton and husband Patrick of Hallsville, Ty Musser and wife Kamilla of Lindale; eleven great-grandchildren, including U.S. Marine Corporal Justin Musser, Ashley, Cassi, Mattie, and Brandie Musser, Kendall, Hallie, Luke, and Lainey Hamilton, McKoy and Kambry Musser; and brother-in-law Thomas Collins of Attala, AL.
Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Hill, Ronnie Hill, Jarrett Hill, Gentry Hill, Robert Nichols, Thomas Nichols, and Patrick
Hamilton.
