Cynthia Horn, age 101, of Carthage, Texas, passed away Wednesday evening, November 20, 2024, in Carthage. Cynthia DeRieux Carter was born in Orange, Texas on March 1, 1923, to the late Hal Grafton and Ruth Amanda DeRieux Carter. Cynthia married Arthur James Leedy on July 6, 1945, and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1996.  Her marriage to Luther Cleo Horn was on August 17, 2002 and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2005. Cynthia worked for many years in retail and later in the healthcare industry. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and enjoyed volunteering at Mission Carthage. Cynthia was also preceded in death by her daughter, Marion Snow Swails.

She is survived by her children, Cully Owens, Hal Leedy and wife Barbara, Pat Leedy and wife Evelyne, and Ruth Moore and husband Dan; grandchildren, Wendy Bratteli and husband Steve, Dan Snow and wife Jessica, Matt Snow, Elizabeth Centurion, Stephen Owen and wife Hailey, Ryan Leedy and wife Jordan, Laura Stepp and husband Chris, Jennifer Armstrong, Melissa Leedy, James W. Jones, Jr., Lesley Lester and husband Chris, Jerry Jones, and Cameron Jones; 23 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Carrie Kinney (Aaron).

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Aaron Bequette officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation following the memorial service on Saturday.

A heartfelt thanks from Cynthia's family goes out to the staff of Briarcliff Skilled Nursing Facility for the kindness and care she received while there.
