Funeral services for Mr. Coy Wayne Murff, age 41, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Waldrop Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Coy passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2012, in Carthage.

Coy Wayne Murff was born on May 28, 1970, in Carthage, Texas to Lewis Robert "Bubba" and Kathy Ann Jones Murff. He graduated from Elysian Fields High School with the class of 1988 and attended Panola College. Coy worked for many years in the pipeline construction business as an operator and more recently as an inspector. He loved his family dearly, especially his daughter, who was the light of his life. Coy was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He lived most of his life in Panola County. Coy was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Ralph H. and Ouida Browning Murff; and his maternal grandfather, William H. Jones.

Coy is survived by his mother, Kathy Cushing and husband Joe of Granbury; maternal grandmother, JoAnn Jones of San Saba; daughter, Bailey Ann Murff of Carthage; brother, Bryan Murff and wife Shelley of the Snap Community; a special friend, Charlotte Peden of Carthage; two step-brothers, Shawn Mixon of Jasper and Toby Cushing of Denver; two step-sisters, Kassi Cuff and husband Randall of Clayton and Kerri Reagan and husband Jason of Jasper; one nephew, Sheldon Murff of the Snap Community; one niece, Tea' Cushing of Denver; and a host of lifetime friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Sheldon Murff, Toby Cushing, Pat Browning, Keith Pittman, Tommy Williams, Randall Cuff, Greg Ransom, Cody Reynolds, Chance Huron, and Clay Standard.
