Funeral services for Cody Michael Figley, age 18 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28 2008 at Southside Baptist Church in Carthage with Dr. Kirby Hill officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Cody passed away on Thursday morning, July 24, 2008 in Shreveport, Louisiana due to injuries he received in an automobile accident.

Cody Michael Figley was born on June 1, 1990 in Marshall, Texas to Roy Dean and Cynthia Louise Nail Figley. Cody loved fishing, riding motorcycles, and playing soccer. He had lived his lifetime in Carthage where he attended Southside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Corbin James Nail.

Cody is survived by his father, Roy Figley and wife Lorri of Carthage; his mother, Cindy Figley and fiancé Barron Riebe of Tatum; maternal grandmother, Lillie French of Carthage; paternal grandparents, Clifford and Geraldine Figley of Carthage; three brothers, Jerry Figley, Jordan Figley, and Jaydan Figley all of Carthage; one sister, Brittany Figley of Carthage; two step-brothers, William Pierce and Matthew Pierce both of Carthage; and two step-sisters, Brandi Estes of Tyler and Jaclyn Pitts of Carthage.

Serving as pallbearers are Dustin Fuselier, William Pierce, Matt Pierce, Wayne Hartt, James Clifford Jeans, Morgan Jeans, Keith Michael Lee, Jimmy Burgess, and Brandon Burgess. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Jesse Wayne Pierce.
