Clifford Leroy Figley was born on Aug. 29, 1937, in Gary, TX to the late George Elmer and Lois Elizabeth Rodgers Figley and passed away on Wednesday evening, Dec. 28, 2022, at his home in Carthage, TX at age 85. He graduated from Gary High School with the class of 1956. Clifford married Geraldine Holmes on May 27, 1961, in Timpson, TX. He served in the U.S. Army during Korea and was honorably discharged. Mr. Figley worked for many years as an auto mechanic in the Carthage area. He served as a deacon in the Baptist church. Mr. Figley was preceded in death by brothers, James Everett Figley and Joel Pascal Figley and grandson, Cody Michael Figley.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine Holmes Figley; children, Roy Dean Figley and wife Lorri, Laura Ann Pierce and husband Wayne, and Treasa Dian Charles; grandchildren, Gerald "Jerry" Figley, Brittany Figley, Jordan Figley, Jaydan Figley, James Clifford Jeans, Morgan Jeans and wife Samantha, Jesse-Wayne Pierce, and Ann-Marie Charles; great-grandchildren, Michael Figley, Mayson Figley, David Kulle, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Figley, Lane Figley, Anastasia Washington, Aurora Washington, Allyn Jeans, and Summer Jeans; step-grandchildren, Brandi Pierce, Jackie Pitts, William Pierce, and Matt Pierce; and step-great-grandchildren, Cammi Pierce, Kortlyn Pierce, William Pierce, Katelynn Pitts, Kaden Pierce, and Keelan Wilcox.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the City Cemetery in Carthage with Rev. Steven Hill officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-12 prior to the service at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, 1131 State Hwy 149, Carthage, Texas 75633.
