Graveside services for Mr. Clarence McLeod Weaver, age 89, of Gary, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010, at Gary Cemetery with Chaplain Tom Bridges with the American Legion Post #353 officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Weaver passed away on Thursday morning, May 27, 2010, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Clarence McLeod Weaver was born on December 27, 1920, Baldwin County, Alabama to R.H. and Millie Gibson Weaver. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged. Mr. Weaver was a member of the American Legion Post #353 in Carthage. He married Ruby Riddlesburger on November 15, 1952, in Galena Park, Texas and she preceded him in death on May 22, 2000. Mr. Weaver moved to Gary in 1978, from New Caney, Texas. He owned and operated The Bobcat and Cedar's Restaurants in Gary and served on the Gary City Council for many years. Mr. Weaver loved working outdoors. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
