A funeral service for Cierra Michelle Lunceford, age 16, of Gary, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rodney Puryear officiating. Interment will follow in Strong Cemetery in Shelbyville, TX. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home for a celebration of Cierra's life and birthday. Cierra passed away on Sunday morning, July 21, 2013.

Cierra Michelle Lunceford was born on July 24, 1996, in Nassau Bay, TX to Stephen Daniel and Misty Mechell Windham Lunceford. She was a student at Carthage High School where she was about to begin her junior year. Cierra loved animals and nature, enjoyed reading, painting, video games, her online friends, and was extremely talented in arts and crafts. She was a great sister and was very helpful and caring with her brothers and sister. Cierra moved to Gary in 2004, from Webster, TX and was a member of the Woods New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard Lunceford, Charlotte Lunceford, Martha Walker, and Jewel Windham.

Cierra is survived by her parents, Misty and Stephen Lunceford of Gary, three siblings, Brandon, Serenity, and Bentley Lunceford all of Gary; grandfather, James Dees and wife Jackie of Farmersville, CA, uncles, Travis Lunceford, Jimmy Dees, Kevin Windham, and Tobias Daugereau; and aunts, Angela Fry and Kimberly Daugereau.

Serving as pallbearers are Stephen Lunceford, Travis Lunceford, Brandon Lunceford, Justin Brown, Kevin Windham, and Chris Smith.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Hurshel Armstreet and Thomas Smith.
