Christopher Glenn Sutton, 51, of Carthage, passed away on Monday morning, Aug. 27, 2018, in Longview. Chris was born on Feb. 2, 1967, in Carthage to Arthur and Hazel Ann Ware Sutton. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1985, and attended Panola College where he earned an Associate's Degree in Forestry. He began his career in forestry in Louisiana. After moving back to Carthage, he worked for Bo Gray, Bill's Meat Market, and more recently for Riderville Grocery. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Chris was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney G. Sutton, Sr.

Survivors are his parents, Arthur and Hazel Sutton of Carthage; brother, Purvis Sutton and wife Tamera of Denton; aunt, Nonie Hudson of Carthage; nephews, Rodney G. Sutton, Jr., D'Quontis Sutton, Jalen Sutton, and Zachary Sutton; nieces, Andraes Sutton and Brianna Sutton; and a great-nephew, Ronnee Sutton.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. G.D. Ware officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Holland's Quarter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Brent Roberson, James Wilcots, Jimmy Rayson, Jeff Pope, Charles Hodge and Rayon Allison.  Honorary pallbearers are Purvis Sutton, Jolen Sutton, Zach Sutton, D'Quontis Sutton, Rodney Sutton, Jr., Ronnee Sutton and Jessie Ware.
