Cheryl Winston Cleveland, 63, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday morning, Dec. 26, 2020, in Tyler, TX. She was born on Dec. 4, 1957, in Monroe, LA to the late Robert Leo and Fredia Peoples Winston. Cheryl graduated from Delta High School in Mer Rouge, LA with the class of 1975. She married Kenneth L. Cleveland on June 17, 1978, in Mer Rouge. Cheryl attended Panola College where she earned an Associate's Degree in Business. Mrs. Cleveland worked as an Instructor's Aide for Carthage I.S.D. for over 26 years. Cheryl moved to Carthage in 1986, from Monroe, LA and was a member of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as VBS Coordinator, Youth Sunday School Teacher, and Assistant Treasurer until her failing health. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daryl Winston.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth L. Cleveland of Carthage; children, Kenneth O. Cleveland (Essence) of Grand Prairie, Cortnei Reed of Dallas, and LaMarcus Cleveland of Augusta, GA; siblings, Marcus Winston, Sr. of Bastrop, LA, Sandra Winston of Bastrop, Daphne Winston of Mer Rouge, and Roderick Winston (Vickie) of McKinney; grandchildren, Amiya, Jaiden, Zion, Brennan, Arrington, and Amerie; and special friends, Vanessa Leary and Diann Brooks. A host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Crossroads Cemetery with Rev. A. Leon Hicks officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Roderick Winston, Marcus Winston, Sr., Marcus Winston, Jr., Maurice Crowder, KaTarus Winston and Daryl Seay. Honorary Pallbearers are Kenneth O. Cleveland, LaMarcus Cleveland, Jaiden Cleveland, Zion Reed, Brennan Cole and Arrington Cleveland.
