Charolette Fuller Petty, 73, of Carthage, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 21, 2016, following a lengthy illness that claimed her life but never her spirit. She will forever be remembered as a loving and beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, neighbor, and friend. She was born on April 3, 1943, in Shreveport to the late Ervin Lamar Fuller and Lena Belle Ivey Fuller. She married Louis Wayne Petty on July 27, 1960 in Center and he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2005, after 45 years of marriage. Mrs. Petty moved to Carthage in 1969, from Shreveport and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Carthage. She was an LVN and worked for Clairmont Longview Residents, Panola Care and Rehab, and Winkler Place. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Louise Petty and sister, Ouida Fuller Morrison.

Survivors include her daughter, Valarie Soape of Carthage; son, Kevin Petty and fiancé Lorie of Carthage; son-in-law, Tippit Soape of Carthage; brother-in-law, William F. Morrison and wife Peggy of Opelika, AL; grandchildren, Christine Samford and husband Jason, Justin Cody Soape, Cindy Dawn Mosley and husband Lucas, and Kevin Lamar Petty, Jr. and Chelsey; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rick Linebarger officiating. Interment will follow in Deadwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Bud Bridges, Blake Holland, Ray Koch, Jimmy Parker, John M. Petty, and Bob Stillwell. Honorary pallbearers are William F. Morrison, Kevin Lamar Petty, Jr., Lucas Mosley and Lloyd Sharbeno.
