Charlotte Figgins, age 82 years, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025, at her daughter's home in Beckville, Texas. Charlotte Elane Banks was born on October 5, 1943, in Buckeye, Arizona to the late Lon Fair and Mary Eva Dockery Banks. She married Ronald Guy Figgins on April 14, 1962, and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2020, after 58 years together. The Figgins started their family in Arizona with the birth of their first two children. In 1968, they moved to Edgar, Nebraska where they had two more children. In 1990, they moved to Red Cloud, Nebraska and in 2021, they settled in Hastings, Nebraska. Mrs. Figgins moved to warmer climate in May of 2025, to live with her daughter in Beckville. She had many jobs throughout her lifetime, including, working as a cook at a school, working in road construction, owning and operating a craft store, and more recently worked as a transport driver in the health care industry. She enjoyed crafting, working puzzles, working with ceramics, baking cakes (she baked all of her daughter's wedding cakes), reading, and making candles. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Mary Adams; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Tom Armer; and grandsons, Brady Adams and Anthony Aulner.
She is survived by her children, Debbra Staggs (Gene), Rick Figgins, and Ruth Williams (Terry); son-in-law, Mark Adams; grandchildren, Angela Johnson (Waylon), Selena Staggs, Starr Staggs, Dante Aulner-Staggs, Ciara Figgins, Karesse Figgins, Casey Williams, Miranda Williams (Kris), Sarah Adams, Derek Peters and wife Samantha, Bryce Adams, Dustin Peters, Ben Adams and wife Jazlyn, and Kynsie Adams; granddaughter-in-law, Kami Aulner; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Serenity, Kyra, Aidan, Gabe, Tristin, Kanen, Richlynn, Skylar, Alyssia, Madalynn, and Jaxon; and siblings, Shirley Peters (Carl) and Douglas Banks (Sharon). Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive Mrs. Figgins.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Red Cloud Cemetery in Red Cloud, Nebraska with Pastor Randy Schneider officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, Carthage, Texas.
