Obituary

Charlie Haynie, 68, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 13, 2021, in Tyler, TX. Charlie Carlon Haynie was born on May 1, 1952, in Wichita Falls, TX to the late Hunter Hayes and Billie Jean Babbitt Haynie. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School with the class of 1970, and attended Midwestern State University. He married Vivian Leigh Duren on July 9, 1976, in Wichita Falls. Charlie moved to Beckville, TX in 1976, and began working for Texas Utilities. He later worked at New Life Bible Book Store in Longview. Charlie worked for many years at A&M Home Care in Carthage and later for Blue Cross Blue Shield until his retirement. He was a fulltime caregiver for his parents until their passing. Charlie served as music minister at Southside Baptist Church in Carthage, First Baptist Church in Tatum, and at New Hope Baptist Church in Gary where he was a current member. He enjoyed seeing and talking to people out in the community and was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Vivian Haynie of Carthage; children, Craig Haynie and wife Crissy of Henderson, Micah Caudle and husband Kevin of Maud, Mark Haynie and wife Sarah of Marshall; brother, Terry Haynie and wife Marie of Hallsville; grandchildren, Christian Haynie and fiancé Hannah Renfrow, Haylee Caudle, Connor Haynie, Marlee Haynie, and Alli Haynie; mother-in-law and father-in-law, LaJune and George Duren of Electra; and sisters-in-love, Vicki Tettleton and husband Mark and Anita Bassett and husband Neil. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and many friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Craig Haynie, Mark Haynie, Christian Haynie, Connor Haynie, Chance Haynie, and Kevin Caudle.

Honorary pallbearers are Crissy Haynie, Micah Caudle, and Sarah Haynie.
