Charles Westmoreland, 83 of Carthage, Texas passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 in Carthage. Charles Raymond Westmoreland was born November 28, 1938 in Carthage to the late Eckart Westmoreland and Eula Mae Boyd. He was raised in Carthage and attended Turner schools. Charles married Martha B. Douglas and they celebrated over 50 years together. He worked most of his life in the trucking industry. Charles is preceded in death by his mother, Eula Mae Mason (Boyd); father, Eckart Westmoreland; son, Antwine Douglas; great grandson, Ja'Mari McLemore; son-in-law, Charles Ray McLemore; brothers, James Westmoreland and Michael Boyd; sisters, Bobbie Reed and Shirley Berry.

He survived by his wife, Martha Douglas Westmoreland; children, Charles Ray Douglas, Sophia McLemore, Erica Ballard (John), Charles Westmoreland, Jr.; grandchildren, Tonjerrika Harris (Devin), Ebony Ballard, Ja'Darrik McLemore, La'Rose Gossett (Justin), Ja'Dayshia McLemore, Charles Westmoreland III, Cree McLemore, Ray'Vonne Westmoreland, Meesha Westmoreland; great grandchildren, Hayvyn Harris, Da'Myia McLemore, Jayce McLemore; brothers, Ricky Westmoreland and John Boyd (Evelyn); special friend, Antonia Robertson. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive Mr. Westmoreland.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. A repast will be held at the Carthage Civic Center.
