Funeral services for Mr. Charles Andrew Singletary, age 80, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Carthage under the auspices of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #521 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Singletary passed away on Friday evening, April 8, 2011, in Carthage.

Charles Andrew Singletary was born on Feb. 2, 1931, in Beckville, TX to Andrew D. and Grace Riddle Singletary. He attended Beckville schools. He moved to Carthage in 1974, and married Mozelle Harris on Oct. 10, 1974, in Whitehouse, TX. Mr. Singletary proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955, in which time he fought in the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He worked for Panola County Road & Bridge Dept. for a number of years before his retirement. Mr. Singletary was a member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #521 A.F. & A.M., Waco Scottish Rite Bodies, and Sharon Temple Shrine. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Singletary is survived by his wife, Mozelle Singletary of Carthage; one son, Charles Dewayne Singletary and wife Melinda of Vernon; one daughter, Debra Greening of Vernon; one step-daughter, Mary Pyle and husband John of Whitehouse; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are the Carthage Masonic Lodge #521.
