Charles, Robert "Rob" Peavy, 87, of Beckville, TX, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in Longview, TX.  Mr. Peavy was born in Toole TX to James Lester Peavy and Alta Mae Ray Peavy.  He married Charlie Mae Eldridge on July 21, 1951 in Toole, and they moved to Beckville in 1969.  Mr. Peavy served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947, and U.S. Air Force beginning in 1948 until retiring in 1967.  He also worked for Texas Forestry for 26 years as a technician and then a Ranger, and served on the Beckville City Council. He attended First Baptist Church in Beckville, and was a member of the Beckville Masonic Lodge #922.  He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, James,Wilburn, Huel and J.L. Peavy.

Survivors include his wife, Charlie Peavy of Beckville; sons, Allen Peavy and wife Pam of Rowlett, and Jeff Peavy of Tatum; daughter, Jaime Witt and husband Mark of Longview; 9 grandchildren, James Peavy, Michelle Price and husband Chris, Lauren Bridges and husband Jake, Ashley Stokes and husband Casey, Brooke Pope and husband Steven, Allison Peavy, Natalie Peavy, Elizabeth Wall, and Ace Witt; 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

A graveside service officiated by Bro. Gary Chambers, with Masonic rites by Beckville Masonic Lodge #922 and Military Honors, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Martin Cemetery in Beckville, under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 at the funeral home.
