Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Charles M. Ramage, age 64, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rodger Cole and Bro. Jason Whatley officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Antioch Cemetery near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Ramage passed away on Tuesday night, July 3, 2012, in Tulsa, OK.

Charles M. Ramage was born on May 8, 1948, in Levelland, TX to Gerald and Darlene Beavers Ramage. He graduated from Lazbuddie High School with the class of 1966. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was honorably discharged. Mr. Ramage married Margaret Leona Sanders on Aug. 31, 1984, in Marshall, TX. He loved hunting and fishing and was a wonderful grandfather. Mr. Ramage worked for International Paper as an electrician for many years. He was a devoted and involved member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he led the Galileans Boys Group, served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent, and served on the Youth Committee. Mr. Ramage moved to Carthage in 1977, from Odessa, TX. He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Shane Todd Ramage; and mother-in-law, Callie Sanders.

Mr. Ramage is survived by his wife, Leona Ramage of Carthage; mother, Darlene Ramage of Carthage; four daughters, Mandi Myers and husband David of Carthage, Shannon Kirkland and husband Rondall of Beckville, Angela Weaver and husband Damon of Beckville, and Amanda Thorne and husband Michael of Carthage; one brother, Mark Ramage and wife Beth of Carthage; one sister, Cheryl Procter and husband Dewayne of Friona; fifteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Ramage.

Serving as pallbearers are Darran Procter, Wade Procter, Brian Weaver, Clay Myers, Chase Myers, and Dallas Boothe. Serving as honorary pallbearers are J.P. Norris and Jesse Norris.
