Obituary

Charles Larry Cammack, 78, of Beckville, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, Aug. 30, 2022, at his home in Beckville. He was born on Dec. 4, 1943, in Beaumont, TX to the late Robert Lowery and Elsie Irene Ramsey Cammack. Charles graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1962, and attended Panola and Centenary Colleges. He married Nelda Jane Weaver on March 27, 1965, at Pisgah Methodist Church near Carthage. Charles served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He worked in law enforcement for 10 years. Charles later worked in private investigation and security services and was the proprietor of CCI, a business he owned and operated from 1984-2008. He served with Gideon's International. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing, traveling, R.V. camping, and especially spending time with his family. Charles was a member of Union Arbor Free Will Baptist Church in Beckville where he served as Senior Deacon and taught Sunday school. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; siblings, Joyce Ann Allums, Bobbie Sue Woods, and George M. Cammack.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane Cammack; son, Chris Cammack and wife Phyllis; daughter, Penni Ratley and husband Chuck; sister-in-law, Loretta Cammack; grandchildren, Zackary Cammack, Taylor Twomey and husband Jared, Chase Cammack, and Shelby Cammack; and great-granddaughter, Magnolia Jane "Maggie" Twomey. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Parker and Dr. Viktor Roudkovski officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Zack Cammack, Chase Cammack, Kirk Weaver, Robert Duncan, Eric Allums, and Carl Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Andrew Nutt, Robert Hollenshead, and Henry Edwards.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses with Heartsway Hospice for the loving care provided to Mr. Cammack.
