Charles Thomas "Bull" O'Bryan, 69, DeBerry, passed away on Wednesday morning, Dec. 14, 2016, in Dallas. He was born on March 12, 1947, in DeBerry to the late John Baker and Kathryn Langford O'Bryan. Bull attended Elysian Fields schools and graduated from Harleton High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Bull worked in the oil field and later as a truck driver. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and any sports but especially football. He lived most of his life in DeBerry and was of the Baptist faith. Bull was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith O'Bryan.
Survivors include his children, Stacie Shelton of Daingerfield, Cory O'Bryan of Deadwood, William O'Bryan of Carthage, Cassy Boggs and husband Josh of Marshall, and Clancey O'Bryan of Deadwood; siblings, Anita Steadman of Shreveport, John Edward O'Bryan of DeBerry, and Kathy Barr of Gary; special friend, Walter Barr of Gary; and grandchildren, Caten and Parker. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at Carter Cemetery with Dr. Dale Reed officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mr. O'Bryan's body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Casey, Walter Barr, Cory O'Bryan, Josh Boggs, Kane Klysen, Clancey O'Bryan, and John Edward O'Bryan.
