A graveside service for Mrs. Charlene Mercer Scott, age 75, of Beckville, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Youngblood Cemetery near Beckville with Pastor Terry Hodge officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mrs. Scott passed away on Wednesday afternoon, April 17, 2013, at her home near Beckville.

Charlene Mercer Scott was born on Sept. 7, 1937, in Houston, TX to Cassey Jones and Rachel Virginia Scott Mercer. She married Phil Baker Scott on April 8, 1954, in Houston. Mrs. Scott loved sewing, cooking, reading, and being with her family. She moved to Beckville in Jan. of 1985, from Houston. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Phil Scott of Beckville; two sons, Rick Scott and wife Maria of Llano and Ken Scott of Hockley; one sister, Lucille Packard of Laneville; five grandchildren, Barbara Pady and husband Billy, Eric Scott, Elizabeth Gomez and husband Ivan, Adam Scott and wife Allison, and Alma Lloyd and husband Nathan; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Garrett, Luke, and Charlie.
