Charlcie Kay Brazzil Ishmael was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1942, in Deadwood, Panola County, Texas to Charles and Gladys Marie LaGrone Brazzil. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1961 and soon afterward met the love of her life and married Jim Ishmael on November 4, 1961. Charlcie worked for Bell Telephone Company, Kyle Animal Clinic, and retired from TECCOR Electronics after 25 years of service. She was a member of Martin United Methodist Church of Bedford. Charlcie enjoyed shopping, reading, movies, cooking and traveling. She was an excellent marksman and a former state champion. She loved people and looked forward to Sunday school and going to lunch with her friends. Charlcie had a fourteen year battle with Lymphoma. She always had a smile and a positive attitude and believed she would be healed. She fought the good fight not because she was scared of dying, but because she did not want to leave her family and worried very much about them. Charlcie touched many people's lives and will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Brazzil.
Charlcie is survived by her husband, friend, and soul mate for 46 years, Jim Ishmael of Bedford, Texas; her son, Marty Ishmael and wife Susie of Bedford, Texas; two grandchildren, Tabitha Freeman of Lancaster, Texas and Cameron Ishmael of Bedford, Texas; one great-grandchild, Riley Freeman of Lancaster, Texas; her mother, Gladys Brazzil of Carthage, Texas; two sisters, Pam Brazzil of Carthage, Texas and Sherry Brazzil of Pensacola, Florida; one aunt, Margaret Odom of Tyler, Texas; her babies, (toy fox terriers) Peaches and Buster; and numerous cousins and friends.
