Funeral services for Mrs. Cassie Mae Greer, age 69, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Greer passed away on Sunday morning, June 13, 2010, at her home near Carthage.
Cassie Mae Pellum Greer was born on May 23, 1941, in the Long Branch Community of Panola County, TX to Obie Pellum and Elnora Castleberry Pellum. She graduated from Turner High School with the class of 1960. She loved to cook for her family. Mrs. Greer moved back to Panola County in 2003 from California. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Greer is survived by her husband Connie Greer of Carthage; two sons, Tony Pellum and wife Toni of Cathedral City, CA and Lee Greer and wife Sarah of Palm Springs, CA; three daughters, Dyanna Greer of Palm Springs, Kathy Goree and husband Darryl of Palm Springs, and Shonda Butler and husband Rodney of Cathedral City; five sisters, Dorothy S. Smith of Houston, Dorothy Thornton and husband Rick of Houston, Joberta Wortham of Ft. Worth, Johnnie O'Quinn and husband Joseph of Houston, and Betty Greer of Houston; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Greer.

Serving as pallbearers are Rayford Roberts, Carlton Williams, Patrick Williams, Ivory Jenks, James Noiel, and Terry McGensey.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Charles Pellum, Richard Pellum, Michael Pellum, Bobby Pellum, Donald Pellum, Mark Hall, Wayne Pellum, Ellis Greer, James O'Quinn, and Byron Wortham.
