Carolyn Denise Turner Lewis, 54, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Wednesday morning, April 22, 2020, at her home in Carthage. Carolyn Denise Turner was born to Irvin Harris and Annie Faye Turner Walton on November 8, 1965, in Carthage. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1984. Carolyn attended Kilgore College where she earned her Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) and her Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certificates. She worked at Panola Care and Rehab for over 26 years and later at Briarcliff Skilled Nursing Center for 8 years. She was baptized into Christ at an early age at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where she worshiped under the guidance of Pastor L.W. Thorn, Sr. Carolyn was married to Howard Lewis for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Faye Turner Walton and Travis Walton and a sister, Renae Walton.

Carolyn is survived by her two loving daughters, Lamesia Turner and Ty Lewis; four devoted sons, Neal Lewis, Deshun Brown, Tristan Lewis, and Christian Lewis; three sisters, Wanda Holland, Audrey Walton (K.P.), and Sonya Rollins (Harold); three brothers, Charles Walton (Liz), Cortez Walton (Angie), and Jerome Walton (Erica); and four grandchildren, Brannon Turner, Ja'Kyria Shelton, TaNiya Gipson, and Jamicheal Walker. A host of nieces, nephews, a special cousin, Monica Anderson, and numerous other family and friends also survive.

A private graveside was held at Walker Cemetery in Carthage under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Dakarian Ware, Brian Berry, Tedarein Harris, Elvis Berry, Jr., Terry Joe McGenzie, and Fredrick Jernigan.

Honorary pallbearers were Neal Lewis, Charles Walton, Deshun Brown, Cortez Walton, Tristian Lewis, Jerome Walton, and Christian Lewis.
