Graveside services for Carolyn Alexander Morris, 83, of Bethany, TX will be held at Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hwy. 79, Panola, Texas on Thursday, April 6 at 2:30 P.M. with Rev. Don Scott officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, Carthage, TX. Mrs. Morris entered into rest on Saturday, April 1, 2006.
Mrs. Morris leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 67 years, William Gilbert Morris of Bethany, TX; one son, Billy J. Morris and wife Diana of Rockwall, TX; one daughter, Sharon Ellis and husband Denny of Carrollton, Texas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her cherished sister Daisie Morris and husband John E. Morris of Carthage, TX and her brother Joe Matt Alexander of Deberry, TX.
Carolyn was born on September 7, 1922 to Joe and Annie Westmoreland Alexander. Upon graduation from Greenwood High School she married William Gilbert Morris on June 9, 1939 and resided in Bethany, TX where she was a lifelong member of the Bethany Methodist Church. She retired from the Caddo Parish School System after many years as a bookkeeper. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Lake Alexander, Griffin Alexander, and Charles Ray Alexander; three sisters, Margaret Walker, Geraldine Gillespie, and Verna Lou Alexander.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to those who cared for Mom, especially her beloved caregiver of 4 ½ years, Etta Fisher, and to special caregivers Theresa Ward and Gail Moore for their many kindnesses in her final months.
