Obituary

Carolyn Lynn, 75, of Beckville, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, March 31, 2020, at her home in Beckville. Julia Carolyn Irvin was born on Feb. 8, 1945, in Marshall, TX to the late Alva Jenkins and Delphia Mae Brazzeal Irvin. She graduated from Marshall High School and earned a Nursing Degree from Texas Eastern School of Nursing in Tyler, TX. Carolyn married John Franklin Lynn on March 21, 1965, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1991. Mrs. Lynn was the longest tenured employee at Beckville I.S.D. where she served as the school nurse for 50 years before her retirement. She was a former pianist at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Harris Chapel Community for many years. Carolyn lived most of her life in the Beckville area and was of the Missionary Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and grandson, Trevor Morris.

Survivors include her children, John Lynn, Jr. and wife Joely of Fair Play, Alva Lynn and wife Linda of Lufkin, and Roseann Morris and husband Jon, Jr. of Fair Play; sister, Rose Johnston of Marshall; and grandchildren, Michael Ramon, Hope Lynn, Faith Lynn, Vaughan Lynn and wife Leia, Aaron Lynn, Tristan Morris, Alec Morris, and Ryan Morris and wife Raegan.

A family graveside service will be held at Harris Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Bob Scott officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A come and go viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Michael Ramon, Vaughan Lynn, Aaron Lynn, Tristan Morris, Ryan Morris, and Alec Morris. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Williams and Thomas Lynn, Sr.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Due the current COVID-19 outbreak, everyone is encouraged to exercise good judgment and follow CDC guidelines with regard to large gatherings and social distancing. Should you choose to instead pay your respects in some private manner, the family respects your choice.
