Carolyn Glover, 85, of Tyler, TX, passed away on Friday morning, Oct. 5, 2018, at her home in Tyler after a lengthy illness. Carolyn Joy Duran Glover was born on Sept. 11, 1933, in Carthage, TX to the late James Ross and Annie Mae Hooker Duran. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1952. She attended Panola College and continued her education at Stephen F. Austin State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. She also attended UT Tyler where she earned her kindergarten certification. Mrs. Glover began her teaching career at Gladewater ISD where she taught Kindergarten. She later taught at Tyler and taught there until her retirement. Mrs. Glover was an active member of Fifth Street Presbyterian Church in Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris Ann Davis and Kathryn Duckworth; brothers, Warren and James Duran; and a son, Ross Glover.

Survivors include her daughter, Beth Spiller and husband John of Tyler; son, Robert L. Glover and wife Luanne of Frankston; grandchildren, Christine Danielle Spiller, Lisa Duran Spiller Williams and husband Jason, Heather DeAnna Spiller, Robin Leann Glover Henderson and husband Caleb, and Robert Lee Glover and wife Laney; great-grandchildren, Payton Glover and T.J. Bell; nieces, Kathryn Keen and LeAnn Worsham; nephews, Don and Ross Duran, Thomas Duckworth, and Randy Davis.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Pastor Steve Simmons officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2018, at Fifth Street Presbyterian Church at 1616 East 5th. Street in Tyler.

Pallbearers are Richard Keen, Alex Duran, Don Duran, Ross Duran, Thomas Duckworth, and Toby Lefevers. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Lewis, Kenneth Brown, and Randy Davis.
