Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Anne Cheshire Bartlett, age 61, of Garland, TX, formerly of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Hendricks officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bartlett passed away on Saturday morning, July 9, 2011, in Plano.

Carolyn Anne Cheshire Bartlett was born on Feb. 1, 1950, in Shreveport, LA to Melvin "Jimmy" Cheshire and Annette Claire Gatlin Cheshire. She attended Carthage schools and graduated from Harlowton, MT High School with the class of 1967. Mrs. Bartlett married Roy Bartlett on June 13, 1970, in Longview and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1994. She owned and operated a tee-shirt and retail store in Carthage for many years. Mrs. Bartlett was an artist and loved to do oil paintings. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Carthage where she was formerly involved with the youth program. Mrs. Bartlett moved from Carthage to Garland in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Bartlett is survived by one son, Chad Bartlett of Garland; one daughter, Annette Macias and husband Jorge of Garland; two brothers, Jimmy and Sammy Cheshire both of Longview; one sister, Shelia Lewis and husband Ken of Plano; and one grandson, Coleman Bartlett of Carthage. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Bartlett.

Serving as pallbearers are Coleman Bartlett, Sammy Cheshire, Jimmy Cheshire, Brock Cheshire, Jorge Macias, Ken Lewis, Ramon Lopez, and Gerry Lopez.
