Carl Dwayne London, 65, of the Buncombe Community in Panola County, TX, passed away on Friday night, May 26, 2017, at his home in Buncombe after a long battle with cancer. He was born on April 2, 1952, in Jacksonville, TX to the late Carl and Sarah Jane Clakley London. Mr. London attended Carthage schools growing up and graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1971. He married Peggy Hippler on June 22, 1973, in the East Mountain Community near Longview. Mr. London was a jack of all trades and worked as a carpenter for many years in the area. He more recently worked as an equipment specialist at Fluor-Martin Lake Plant near Tatum. Mr. London enjoyed hunting, fishing, helping others that were in need, and witnessing for Christ. He lived most of his life in Panola County and was of the Baptist faith. His parents and his brother-in-law, Lowery Collins preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Peggy of Buncombe; children, Elizabeth London of Houston, Cody London of Houston, and Micah London of Buncombe; sisters, Lucille Collins of Emory and Glenda Langley and husband Chris of Timpson; and granddaughter, Sarah. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. London.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Chris Collins and Clent Hippler officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Murvaul Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Baisden, Allen Hicks, Wade Rector, Cole Griffith, Darrell Griffith, and Colton Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Easley and Bill Ferguson.
