Calvin Guill, 61, of Longview, TX, formerly of Panola County, TX, passed away on Thursday morning, Nov. 18, 2021, in Longview. He was born in Opelousas, LA on Aug. 9, 1960, to Vivian Montet Guill and James Richard Guill. Calvin grew up in Krotz Springs, LA until the family came home to James' home of Panola County. Calvin grew up in Carthage where he graduated with the class of 1978. While in Carthage, he met his high school sweetheart, Jena Seegers, and they were married for 17 years and had two children, Brandon and Ashley. Calvin worked for Luminant Mining for 39 years, just shy of retiring at 40 years this December. He served as a reserve deputy for the Panola County Sheriff's Office for 20 years. He proudly raised his 2 children and unfortunately suffered the loss of his son 6 years previously. Before he lost his son, he was blessed with his first grandson Bryson and has had so many wonderful times with him and in the time since he lost Brandon, he was blessed with another grandson from Ashley named Gus who loved to ride the tractor with his Paw Paw. Calvin lived for his grand babies and his kids. In the last year, he finally met a woman that could keep up with him, Ms. Stephanie Smith. She brought so much happiness that he didn't know he needed at the time, and unfortunately they didn't have the time together they deserved. My Daddy loved his family more than anything and was a hell of a man. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and son.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Allen and husband Nathan of Longview; grandchildren, Bryson Guill and Augustus Allen; and girlfriend, Stephanie Smith of Quitman.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Les Adams and Ashley Allen officiating.
