Funeral services for Mr. Robert E. (Bobby) Scott, age 59 years, of Carthage, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Jimerson- Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Don Cocklin and Rev. Ervin Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in City Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Scott passed away on Thursday morning, June 1, 2006 in Longview, Texas.
Mr. Bobby Scott was born on February 14, 1947 in Shreveport, LA to Robert and Cleo Marie Mitchell Scott. He was a lifetime resident of Carthage and had been a member of the Carthage Fire Department for 40 years. Mr. Scott was named Fireman of the Year and had attended several fire training schools for firemen before retiring. A member of First Christian Church, he married Nancy Wilkerson. He worked for the Texas Highway Department for over 37 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Nancy Scott of Carthage, one son, Jamie Scott of Carthage, one daughter, Kim Baker and husband Scott of Beckville, one step-daughter, Charlotte Addington of Bossier City, LA, four grandchildren DeAnna, Colby, Kagen, and Kaleb Baker of Beckville, three step grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley and Arika Addington of Bossier City, LA, two step great grandchildren Payton and Ta'Neya, and father-in-law Jack Wilkerson of Carthage.
Pallbearers are Bill Peace, Dale Jones, Brian Monroe, Bryan Murff, Joe Robinson, and Billy Clabaugh. Honorary pallbearers are the Carthage Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Highway Department Employees, and Grandsons Colby, Kagen, and Kaleb Baker.
