Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Earl Moreland, age 68, of Nacogdoches, TX formerly of Carthage, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rodney Puryear officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Moreland passed away on Monday morning, December 21, 2009, at his home in Nacogdoches.

Bobby Earl Moreland was born on November 19, 1941 in Tarrant County, Texas to Clyde Cecil and Ella May Hackney Moreland. Mr. Moreland married Barbara Ann Calvert on March 24, 1967 in Fort Worth. He worked as a brick mason. Mr. Moreland was a former member of the Sabine and Carthage Riding Clubs. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Smithville. Mr. Moreland moved to Nacogdoches in 2008, from Carthage. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Eugene Moreland; and one sister, Betty Mac Fredies.

Mr. Moreland is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara Moreland of Nacogdoches; two sons, Terry Moreland and wife Lisa of Nacogdoches and Francisco Valinhas-Moreland and wife Cynthia of Killeen; two daughters, Jerri Vaughan and husband Larry of Woden and Ruth Ann Moreland of Marshall; three brothers, Roy Moreland and wife Betty of Richardson, Lester Moreland and wife Ima of Springtown, and Charlie Moreland and wife Barbara of Carthage; one sister, Sue Oney and husband Karl of Carthage; one sister-in-law, Velma Moreland; seven grandchildren, Misty Holmes and husband Gregg, Glen Vaughan, Lola Moreland, Brandon Narramore, Dominique Espinosa, Antonio Valinhas-Moreland and Robert Trevino; two step-grandchildren, Tiffany White and Mike McCary; two great-grandchildren, Landon Holmes and Justin White; and two step-great-grandchildren, Brandon McCary and Ty White.

Serving as pallbearers are Lonnie Moreland, Les Moreland, Ricky Moreland, Glen Vaughan, Brandon Narramore, and Mike McCary.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Rhythm Rockers.
