Bobby Keen, 83, of the Antioch Community in Panola County, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 4, 2019. Bobby Joe Keen was born on Dec. 7, 1935, in Arcadia, LA to the late Pernell Dewey and Rosa Belle Depriest Keen. He graduated from high school in Athens, LA with the class of 1954. Bobby married Shirley Ann Bagley on May 2, 1963. He worked as a lease operator for Pennzoil, retiring after 31 years in the oil and gas industry. Bobby continued his work career with the Carthage Police Dept. retiring after 10 years of service to the community. He was a member of Carthage Missionary Baptist Church. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Dewey Keen; and sister, Florence Keen Henley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley Keen of Antioch; sons, Joel David Keen and wife Emily of Tucson and John Gary Keen and wife Sue of Shreveport; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and many friends also survive Mr. Keen.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday June 8, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Pierce, Duane Baushke, John Lister, John Depresca, Robert Duncan, and Ray Brady.

Honorary pallbearers are the men of Carthage Missionary Baptist Church.
