Bobby Ray Etheredge, 82, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Sunday afternoon, June 27, 2021, in Carthage. He was born on Oct. 28, 1938, in Gilmer, TX to the late Albert Epperson "Ab" and Polly Jane Danner Etheredge. He graduated from Jacksonville High School with the class of 1957. Bobby served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. He married Loretta Hodges on Jan. 16, 1960, in Carthage at the Southside Baptist Church, where he has been a longtime member. Bobby worked as a tool pusher and superintendent in the oil field industry, retiring in 1988, from Penrod Drilling. He had a passion for sports and enjoyed umpiring youth baseball for almost 40 years and many years refereeing basketball. He was preceded in death by sons, Bobby Etheredge, Jr. and Kavin Scott Etheredge; great-grandsons, Cohen Riley LaGrone and Khyler Kruz Saucedo; brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Mary Etheredge; a sister and brother-in-law, Davie Lee and Joe Thornberry.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Loretta Etheredge; son, Jeff Etheredge and wife Amy of Beckville; daughter, Robin Smith and husband Terry of Carthage; grandchildren, Ashley Hodge and husband Brandon, Scarlett Tompkins, Shelly Etheredge, Kashton Etheredge, Brandy LaGrone and husband C.J., Kristy Saucedo and husband Javier, Dillon Etheredge and wife Holly, Dalton Etheredge and fiancé Alexis, and Daxton Etheredge; and great-grandchildren, Brynslee Hodge, Raelynn Tompkins, Addison Owens, Bentley Owens, Lincoln Etheredge, Blayton LaGrone, Bransyn LaGrone, Adrian Saucedo, Julian Saucedo, Aaron Saucedo, Brayden Owen, and Madilyn Kate Etheredge. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kirby Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Dillon Etheredge, Dalton Etheredge, Daxton Etheredge, Blayton LaGrone, Bransyn LaGrone, Brayden Owen, Adrian Saucedo, C.J. LaGrone, and Javier Saucedo. Honorary pallbearer is Tony Sheffield.

Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church or Heart's Way Hospice.
