Bobbie Sue Cammack Woods, 75, of Carthage, passed away suddenly on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2015, in Carthage. She was born on July 30, 1940, in Timpson to the late Robert L. and Elsie Irene Ramsey Cammack. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1958 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Wesleyan College in 1962. She married James R. Woods on June 3, 1960 at Pisgah United Methodist Church in Riderville. Mrs. Woods taught music at Beckville Elementary, retiring after 16 years. She was a fiercely competitive bridge player, and loved winning. She was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Woods is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James Woods of Carthage; daughter, Gae-Lynn Woods and husband Martyn Popey of Gary; sons, Jerry Woods and wife Kimberly of Beckville and Terry Woods and wife Tracy of Henderson; brothers, Charles L. Cammack and wife Jane of Beckville and George M. Cammack and wife Loretta of Nacogdoches; sister, Joyce Ann Allums of Carthage; and five grandchildren, J.P., Rylee, Lydia, MacGreagor, and Ean.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at Langley Cemetery in Beckville. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
