Billy Glenn Jernigan, 68, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 24, 2017, in Carthage. He was born March 25, 1948, in Panola County to the late Annie Jernigan. Mr. Jernigan attended Turner School. For more than 30 years, he worked as custodian for Panola General Hospital and later East Texas Medical Center. Mr. Jernigan was preceded in death by his mother; 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

Survivors include his brother, Joe Roy McMillian and wife Bonnie of Carthage and sister, Louise Jernigan of Palm Springs, CA.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Walker Cemetery with Rev. Tommy L. Allison officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mr. Jernigan's body will lie in state from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
