Billy Ray Hudson, 83, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, May 28, 2019, at his home in Carthage. He was born on Aug. 7, 1935, in Carthage to the late Olen and Elsie Faye Williams Hudson. He graduated from Gary High School with the class of 1954. Billy married Joyce Lee Mayhaw in 1994, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2018. He worked in the pipeline industry as an operator until his retirement and was a member of the IUOE Local #819 out of Ft. Worth. Billy had lived his lifetime in Panola County and was a member of Abundant Life Church. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lynn Hudson who passed away in 1980; brothers, Daniel Olen Hudson and Robert Earl Hudson; and sister, Lucille Beard.

Survivors include his daughters, Amanda Ruth Kirkendoll and husband Phillip of Arp, Valerie Keele and husband Keith of Center and Karen Ishee of Carthage; brothers, Thomas N. "Tom" Hudson of Lake Murvaul, M.E. "Mutt" Hudson and wife Mickey of Carthage, Jacky Hudson of Tatum, John Hudson and wife Dian of Beckville, and Noble Hudson of Beckville; grandchildren, Kylee and Abbey Johns of Arp, Justin and Leslie McGuire of Center, Ryan and Jana Keele of Center, Kristi Angelo of Tyler, Shayne and C.J. Shadowens of Carthage, Casey Ishee of Carthage and Mandy and Toby Grisham of North Dakota; great-grandchildren, Ella Kain, Connor McGuire, Ross Keele, Kyndall Angelo, Kinley Angelo, Hope Hughes and Derek Ishee; great-great-grandchildren, Tinleigh, Levi and Grant Hughes. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Hudson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Sis. Betty Wills and Pastor Keith Keele officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Matt Hudson, Mike Hudson, Casey Ishee, Nolan Kirkendoll, Phillip Kirkendoll, Johnny Matsoukas and Shayne Shadowens.

Honorary pallbearers are his brothers, Thomas N. "Tom" Hudson, M.E. "Mutt" Hudson, Jacky Hudson, John Hudson and Noble Hudson.
