Billy Edwin Dorsey, 85, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Lake Murvaul, passed away on Friday afternoon, April 29, 2016, in Wichita Falls. He was born on July 20, 1930, in Hallsville to the late Isaac Cornelius and Jessie Virginia Quillen Dorsey. He attended high school in Longview. Mr. Dorsey served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He married Billie Jean Connell and she preceded him in death in 1995. He loved to bowl and owned and operated bowling lanes in Carthage and Gladewater. One of the highlights of his career was bowling a perfect 300 game from which he received a diamond ring that he proudly wore. In 1998, he married Betty Jo Thom and they made their home in Wichita Falls where they were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church. In addition to his parents and his first wife, Mr. Dorsey was also preceded in death by his son, Richard Isaac Dorsey, who passed away in 1996; and six siblings, Dollie Richardson, Nellie Shoults, Wilma Stracener, Anna Kate Smith, Roy C. Dorsey, and Ray Howard Dorsey.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Dorsey of Wichita Falls and her children, Curlette Hennard and husband Ken of Cartersville, GA, Vanessa Skinner of Gainesville, TX, and Tim Forester of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Brooke Lipsey and husband Stuart of Carthage, Daron Dorsey and wife Jessica of DeBerry, Skye Dorsey of Tyler and Katrina, Billy, Jason, Nathan, and Heather; and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Travis Lipsey, Jade and Avery Dorsey, and Zoey, Kloey, Jaxon, Elaina, Carson, Logan, Matthew, Jacob, and Blake. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Dorsey.

A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at Cain Cemetery near Longview with Rev. Keefe Cropper officiating.
