Bill Rodgers, 72, of Beckville, TX, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 3, 2021, at his home in Beckville. Bill Harrison Rodgers was born on Oct. 28, 1948, in Longview, TX, to the late Bill and Mattie Sue Neal Rodgers. He graduated from White Oak High School with the class of 1966. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. Bill was a helicopter mechanic at Rocky Mountain Helicopter in Alaska, then later was a mechanic for Boeing until his retirement. He married Cathy Jean Huskinson on Dec. 3, 1979, in Palmer, AK. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother.

Bill is survived by his wife, Cathy Rodgers; step-son, Michael Plate and wife Christine of Alaska and their children, Kellen, Reena; step-son, Dale Plate; step-daughter-in-law, Kenda Plate of Oregon; aunts, Icephene Rodgers Howell of Beckville, TX and Daisy Neal Hall of Gladewater, TX; and numerous cousins, including Emma Blakeman of Carthage, TX.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Scott officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

Cremation arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
