A funeral service for Mrs. Betty Whitecotton, age 85, of Gary, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jose Campos officiating. Interment will follow in County Line Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Whitecotton passed away on Tuesday evening, July 9, 2013, in Marshall, TX.

Betty Louise Rawdon was born on Apr. 22, 1928, in Mansfield, TX to the late Hubert F. Rawdon, Sr. and Lillie Moreland Rawdon. She attended school in Mansfield and Grapevine. She married John William Moreland and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1988, she later married Roland D. "Ron" Whitecotton and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2009. Mrs. Whitecotton was an avid ham radio operator and was a member of the Carthage Ham Radio Club. She moved to Gary in 1986, from Newark, TX near Ft. Worth and she was of the Church of Christ faith. Mrs. Whitecotton was also preceded in death by one brother, Hubert F. Rawdon, Jr.

Mrs. Whitecotton is survived by two sons, David Harold Brown and wife Pam of Mansfield and Keith Douglas Brown and wife Margie of Gary; one brother, John Rawdon and wife Dot of New Orleans; sister-in-law, Daphne Rawdon of Weatherford; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Serving as pallbearers are Keith Brown, Jr., Robert Brown, John Brown, Monty Gore, Marvin Futrell, and Dick Venable.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Grayson Brown, Tyson Holik, and Mason Holik.
