Betty Sue Tew Kuhn, 74, of Carthage, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017, in Tyler. She was born on Feb. 1, 1943, in Clayton to the late Obie and Irene Maines Tew. She graduated from Carthage High School. Mrs. Kuhn worked as a hardware department manager at Wal-Mart in Carthage until her retirement. She lived her lifetime in Panola County and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joan Jacobs; and daughter, Tonya Kuhn-Franks.

She is survived by her son, Duane Kuhn and wife Irma of Waskom; brother, L.C. Tew of Carthage; sister, Wanda Tew Ehrmann of Carthage; grandchildren, Courtney Kuhn, Ashley Franks, and Zachary Kuhn; and great-grandchildren, Josiah and Isaiah. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Kuhn.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at Antioch Cemetery with Dr. Dale Reed officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.

Pallbearers are Duane Kuhn, Cody Childers, Martez Williams, and Zachary Kuhn.
