Betty D. McWilliams, of Sibley, LA, formerly of Long Branch, Panola County, TX, passed away on Sunday morning, Nov. 8, 2020, at her home in Sibley. Betty Sue English was born on June 14, 1930, in Long Branch to the late Pat and Lois Arnold English. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1948. Betty married Dewey Dale McWilliams on June 23, 1989, in Longview. Mrs. McWilliams worked for many years as an admitting clerk at Panola General Hospital in Carthage. She moved to Sibley from Ringold, LA and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ringold. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Pat English; and sisters, Fae Myers, Mildred English, and Ella Klumpers.

Mrs. McWilliams is survived by her husband, Dale McWilliams of Sibley; sons, Larry Dodge and wife Cindy of Longview, Dennis Dodge of Houston, Rickey Dodge and wife Dana of Carthage, and Tom Dodge and wife Susan of Nashville; step-son, David McWilliams and wife Kim of Carthage; sister-in-law, Aundria English of Quinlan; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at City Cemetery in Carthage with Pastor Joshua Beshea officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
