Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Bradley, age 80, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Sat., July 17, 2010, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kirby Hill and Dr. David Holder officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bradley passed away on Wednesday morning, July 14, 2010, in Tyler.
Betty Jo Tucker Bradley was born on Nov. 2, 1929, in Spur, TX to Lee Warren Tucker and Mettie Jordan Tucker. She graduated from Lubbock High School with the class of 1947, and attended Tarleton State University for two years. Mrs. Bradley married Billy Gene Bradley on June 11, 1950, in Ruidoso, NM. Throughout the years, she has always been active in the women's organizations in the churches in which she was a member. Mrs. Bradley also volunteered at the hospital in Desoto, Texas for many years. She moved to Carthage in 1989, from Desoto and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Bradley is survived by her husband of 60 years, B.G. "Bill" Bradley of Carthage; two sons, Billy Lee Bradley and wife Julia of Clayton and Charles Warren Bradley and wife Carol of Fairfield; one brother, Billy Warren Tucker and wife Veda of Ruidoso; five grandchildren, Erin Bradley, Justin Bradley and wife Gina, Scottie Leatherman and wife Becky, Shelley Lott and husband Jonathan, and Shawna Martin and husband Michael; and six great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Donnie Suits, Mike Pennington, Michael Martin, Justin Bradley, Lance Dorman, Bill Gollmitzer, and Jonathan Lott.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Byron Williams, June Taylor, and Howard McDonald.
