A graveside service for Mrs. Bettie Sanders, 87, of Baytown formerly of Gary, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Gary Cemetery with Bro. Dale Walker officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m-1 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service. Mrs. Sanders passed away on Thursday morning, July 3, 2014, in Baytown.

Bettie Pearl Foster Sanders was born on Dec. 8, 1926, in Lawton, OK to the late Walter G. and Beulah Emerick Foster. She married Tommy D. Sanders on Aug. 21, 1945, in San Francisco and he preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2011. Mrs. Sanders worked as a security administrator for General Electric until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Gary. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Curtis R. "Dusty" Sanders,; and two sisters, Babe and Sally.

Mrs. Sanders is survived by one son, Tommy D. "Sandy" Sanders, Jr. and wife Judy of Baytown; a daughter-in-law, Jeanie Sanders of Burleson; one sister, Billie Williams and husband Bob of Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Sanders.
