Bettie Jo Collins, 94, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Monday morning, December 18, 2023, in Longview, Texas. Bettie Jo Pierce was born on September 14, 1929, in Panola County, Texas to the late Albert Lee and Bettie Bird Clark Pierce. She married John Wesley Collins and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1984. Mrs. Collins enjoyed cooking, canning, cross stitch and gardening. She worked for many years in the home health business. Mrs. Collins lived her lifetime in Panola County and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was also preceded in death by children, Bettie L. Collins, Mary Frances Rash, Albert Collins, and Johnny Collins and 4 siblings.

She is survived by daughters, Sandra Castle and husband Jody and Jo Ann Lockwood; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Walton Cemetery with Bro. Charles Chargois officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Cody Castle, Joshua Castle, Dylan Castle, and Craig Collins.
