Betsy Leigh Fouse Townsend, 33, of Fair Play, passed away on Monday morning, Feb. 15, 2016, in Carthage. She was born on Sept. 23, 1982, in Longview to John and Patty Wallace Fouse. She graduated from Gladewater High School with the class of 2001. Betsy married Daniel Wayne Townsend on Oct. 4, 2008, in Carthage. She worked as the manager of the Cash Store in Carthage. Betsy moved from Gladewater to Carthage 9 years ago and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Townsend of Fair Play; mother, Patty Wallace Fouse of Williston, ND, son, Lucas Townsend of Fair Play; daughter, Kendra Townsend of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Joshua Fouse and wife Rachel of Longview; sisters, Sara Fouse of Ketchikan, AK and Samantha Fouse of Williston; mother-in-law, Tracey Townsend; aunts and uncles, Judy and Mike Geddie of Kilgore, Pam and Jimmy Sherman of Houston, Jenny Smith of Dallas, and Jill Scurlock and husband Steve of Gladewater; uncle and aunt, Bill and Karen Fouse of Kilgore; great-uncle, Jack Pettus of Gladewater; and nephew, Alexander Fouse.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Jalon Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Gladewater Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Kasey Townsend, Mario Marino, Lonnie Townsend, Ronnie Townsend, Mickey Townsend, and Jesse Norris.
