Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Virginia Yarbrough, age 88 of the Delray Community of Panola County, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mervin Scott and Rev. Wade Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in Walton Cemetery in the Delray Community. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Yarbrough passed away on Sunday night, May 24, 2009, in Longview.

Bessie Virginia Pierce Yarbrough was born on November 14, 1920, in the Delray Community of Panola County, Texas to Alvin and Maggie Cockrell Pierce. She lived in Delray all her life. Mrs. Yarbrough graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1939. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Mrs. Yarbrough was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman Wimberly Yarbrough who died on September 20, 1993; one brother, Willie Pierce; one daughter, Jean Yarbrough Coley; and one son-in-law, Pat Coley.

Mrs. Yarbrough is survived by two daughters, Janie Simpson and husband John of Delray and Kathy Powell and husband Phil of Carthage; one son, George Yarbrough and wife Scissy of Delray; eight grandchildren, Teresa Griffin and husband Bubba, Cynthia Simpson, Caitlyn Powell, Jennifer Coley Moody and husband John, Erin Coley Molloy and husband Kevin, Kerry Coley Dodge, Sean Coley and wife Roxanne, and Justin Hawkins and wife Shaunta; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Molloy, John Moody, Bubba Griffin, Grant Griffin, Trenton Wiese, and Sean Coley.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Zachery Molloy, Asher Molloy, Ricky Dodge, Hunter Simpson, Gage Coley, Braylen Hawkins, Justin Hawkins, Walker Moody, and Wyatt Moody.
