Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Vincent, age 91 years of Tatum, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steven Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Vinson Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Vincent passed away on Friday, February 3, 2006 in Carthage, Texas.
Bessie Glee Vincent was born on June 15, 1914 in Bellingham, Washington to Oscar Charlie and Delia Majors Finley. Mrs. Vincent was educated in Tatum schools. She married James W. Vincent in 1935. Mrs. Vincent had lived her lifetime in Tatum and was a member of the First Christian Church of Tatum. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in August of 1951, three brothers, and a sister.
Mrs. Vincent is survived by one son, James R. Vincent and wife Kay of Tatum; one daughter, Juanita LaGrone and husband Jeff of Carthage; one sister, Dulcia Reid and husband Wilson of Mesquite; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Serving as pallbearers are Russell Yates, Justin Yates, Troy King, Kevin Smith, Sherman Smith, and J.W. Parsons.
