Bessie Mae Scott, 79, of DeBerry, TX, passed away on Saturday night, Aug. 24, 2019, in Carthage. She was born on Oct. 16, 1939, in Mansfield, LA. Bessie married Willie Scott in 1966, and moved to DeBerry. She was a passionate woman with a heart of gold who raised many children who needed love, food, a place to stay, and safety. She opened her heart as well as her home. She was the true meaning of an angel. Bessie was a woman who fulfilled so many empty hearts; a woman who sacrificed so much just to make sure everyone was ok. A true angel she was.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Willie Scott; son, Shawn Scott and wife Joy; granddaughter, Jazmyn Shelton; and many grandchildren including, Zane Scott, Isaiah Hinton, and DeAsia Gilbert.

Each night we shed a silent tear, as we speak to you in prayer to let you know we love you, and just how much we care. Take our million teardrops, wrap them up in love, then ask the wind to carry them, to you in heaven above.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at Still Waters Cowboy Church. Cremation arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
