Funeral services for Mrs. Bertie Lee White, age 82, of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston with Rev. Kevin Wood officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Mt. Bethel Cemetery near Gary, Texas. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. White passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Pine Ridge Nursing Home. Local arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Bertie was born January 29, 1927 in Gary, Texas to Marcus Witherspoon and Alabama Byrd Witherspoon. She worked many years as a nurse's aid. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters Rosabelle Pass, Woolsey Witherspoon, Emma Joyce Powell, Burke Witherspoon, and Alton Witherspoon.
She is survived by her sister Marie Smith of Pasadena, nieces and nephews;

Ava Anstee and husband Scott of Livingston, Mark Witherspoon and wife Mary Ann of Livingston, Ronnie Witherspoon, James Witherspoon and wife Susan, of Livingston, Marcus Welch and wife Elaine of Pasadena, David Pass and wife Mary of Carthage, Betty Smith and husband James of Carthage, Jo Anna Whiteside and husband Kenneth of Carthage, and Maxine Harris of Winona.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Walker, Scott Anstee, Ronnie Witherspoon, Ed Jones, James Langford, and Marcus Walker.
